Now that I have minute, I just wanna say hi. I've been up to a lot lately and not spending enough time making arts. But what else is new, amirite?

First, I've been busy at nights in the biology lab for what seems like forever. As a side project to my research into S. lycopersici I've been concocting my own strain of brewer's yeast. It has been a fantastic experience. I finally "harvested" a vial tonight- enough to produce 6 gallons of what will tenatively be named Schroedinger's Cat. Long story, awesome name. These little guys can survive up to 15% alcohol by volume and
should (underlined and italicized for extra uncertainty), based off the chromatography data, provide ample ester and phenol flavors and overtones--- a nice, light-bodied, crisp ale. Granted, it's not as flashy or nearly as awesome as some of =
seymourfan's side projects (seriously, go check out her Dragoon helmets. I mean, wtf), but inventing novel strains of yeast? It's just so... me. Actually, it's no where near flashy- it's really pretty gross. I still smell agar even when I am not in the lab.
Second, I really need a new tablet. So I am going to buy a med-sized Intuos4. It's $350 but I have put it off long enough. Agreed?
Sooooooo, anyone have experience with that line? Feedback would be fabulous.
Lastly, I hope you are all doing well. Especially you, ~
p-korle. Just keep being a biology nerd. We really need more people like that. I realize that no matter how I fill my time or keep myself occupied at work, I kinda miss you guys. It's a bummer how real life can keep me occupied longer than I would like.
